诗歌创作背景：
不少圣诗佳作都在患难逼迫中写就。在患难中主仆得以深深体会“主安坐高天”，他是坐在“宝座之真神”。
查理斯写《主仆颂主歌》之时，正身陷大逼迫之中，但他定睛在神身上，总不放弃传扬神的救恩。
这诗首见于一七四四年《患难逼迫之歌》，是《暴乱之歌》组曲第一首，灵感源于诗篇93篇、145篇，启示录7：9-12。
